During

Lock Down

Another month has gone past without a physical meeting of

our club, but that was to be expected. We don't see another meeting being held until at least  August or September.

We are pleased to say your committee are now holding meetings on the

ZOOM video conferencing App. It was another successful meeting and the committee will be using the video conferencing option for future meetings.

Last month's goodie box was won by Elaine Craig and her prize was delivered to her on Saturday 9th May.

JUNE’S CORONA VIRUS RAFFLE WINNER

This month's Kincumber Probus Club lock down raffle was drawn by Mr. Trevor Moore, at a secret location where we play golf every Friday at various times during the Covid 19 lock down.

This month's worthy winner was Mr John Sutton who may have an attack of acne next time we see him from chocolate overload. His prize was delivered on Sunday when I enjoyed a nice cuppa and a chat with a surprised Kincumber Club member.

Smiling Is Infectious

by Spike Milligan

Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

Similar to the SBS providing Corona Virus instructions in different ethnic languages in Australia. The UK’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is following our lead by providing Lockdown Instructions in the local regional English dialects.

For your interest, detailed below is a North Eastern Lancashire dialect from the Wigan region. Have fun deciphering!
